U.K. audio cassette and CD formats have different titles: the audio cassette is entitled "HYDROLOGY AND 1 + 2" whilst the CD is entitled "HYDROLOGY PLUS 1 + 2".

The original U.S. audio cassette and CD formats were released as "HYDROLOGY AND 1 + 2".

U.K. Promo Radio 7" Single (R Mute 110): mispressed copies exist.

These discs are the commercial 7" single with promo labels and therefore play the 'LP Version' of 'FAITH HEALER' instead the 'Radio Version'.

The 12" single and CD single formats are different:

On the 12" single 'DRIFTING [Poison Dub]' has a clean fade-out and 'CONTROL FREAK [Barry Adamson Mix]' has a clean fade-in.

On the CD single 'DRIFTING [Poison Dub]' fades over to 'CONTROL FREAK [Barry Adamson Mix]'.

'SHUNT [Panasonic Mix]' was edited for the CD single and lasts 1 Minute and 57 seconds shorter than the version on vinyl.

Talking of Douglas McCarthy is not credited for 'CONTROL FREAK [Barry Adamson Mix]'.

'CONTROL FREAK [Barry Adamson Mix]' features sample of DEPECHE MODE's 'BARREL OF A GUN [united mix]'.

Alan Wilder didn't actually know this when the single was released. He got aware of this fact by a fan in the Q+A of SHUNT. Alan's comment: "I had no idea about the use of this sample (which comes from some other source apparently) when Barry Adamson submitted his remix. If I'd known that it had been used on a Mode remix, I'd have edited it out".

Alan rejected a mix for 'DRIFTING' by Flood.

The double LP and CD/Download formats are different:

On the double LP 'STALKER' has a clean fade-out and 'RED RIVER CARGO' has a clean fade-in.

On the CD/download 'STALKER' fades over to 'RED RIVER CARGO'.

The CD format has mastering errors: about half a second of 'DRIFTING' is included in the previous track 'INCUBUS' resp. about half a second of 'STALKER' is included in the previous track 'LUSCIOUS APPARATUS'.

This error was corrected with the 2007 re-edition of this CD.

Typing error on inner sleeve/booklet - Francis Coppola's last name is misspelled as Copolla.

Typing error on inner sleeve/booklet - Hildia Campbell's last name is misspelled as Cambell.

U.K. album formats: typing error on inner sleeve/booklet - publisher Warner Chappell is misspelled as Chappel.

'RED RIVER CARGO' is credited as 'RED RIVER' on some promotional formats.

U.K. CD Single (CD Mute 214): backing vocals of Hildia Campbell are not credited for 'MISSING PIECE [Night Dissolves]'.

U.K. Promo CD (Advance1CD): the enhanced multimedia part (weblink) is missing.

The working title of 'VERTIGEN' was 'ARAB'.

'BLACK BOX (Pt.1)' is credited as 'BLACK BOX INTRO' on U.K. promotional CD-Rs.

'BLACK BOX (Pt.2)' is credited as 'BLACK BOX OUTRO' on U.K. promotional CD-Rs.

U.K. Double LP (Stumm 173): typing errors on label of side B: 'JEZEBEL' has track number B05 instead of B03 resp. 'BREATH CONTROL' has track number B06 instead of B04.

U.K. Multimedia Web Kit (IPK Stumm 173): part '5 BIOGRAPHY' can't be selected due to a software bug.

The release date was delayed one time:

The release date was delayed one time:

> 18th June 2007 - originally planned release date (evident on the U.K. 2-trk and 3-trk promotional CD-R singles).

Initial information said the download single (i Mute 372) will feature 'PREY [Single Version Edit]' like on the 7" single, but 'PREY [Single Version]' was finally released on this format.

As there was no CD single format released for 'PREY' initially, another petition was started on the DEPMOD Forum:

The initial mastering was done by The Exchange mastering studio.

The mix of the album is identical to the released one but this version sounds a bit different due to extra volume/compression and certain sounds and effects appear more prominent here.

However, Alan Wilder wasn't happy with it and the album was mastered again at Super Audio Mastering studios by Simon Heyworth for the final release. As Alan liked the 2nd mastering more Simon was also chosen to do the re-mastering for the tracks featured on the compilation album SELECTED.

The double LP and CD/DVD/download formats are different:

On the double LP 'ALLELUJAH', 'THE KILLING GROUND' and 'INTRUDERS' have a clean fade-out resp. '5000 YEARS', 'INTRUDERS' and '99 TO LIFE' have a clean fade-in.

On the CD/DVD/Downloads 'ALLELUJAH' fades over to '5000 YEARS', 'THE KILLING GROUND' fades over to 'INTRUDERS' and 'INTRUDERS' fades over to '99 TO LIFE'.

The release date of the U.S. album was delayed one time:

> 31st July 2007 - originally planned release date (evident on the U.S. promotional advance CD).

The DVD features two hidden promotional films.

To see them just watch the 'JEZEBEL' video until its end. Once the 'JEZEBEL' video has ended a different menu appears, where the two hidden videos for 'SHUNT' and 'ELECTRO BLUES FOR BUKKA WHITE' can be selected.

'ALLELUJAH' features a sample of DEPECHE MODE's 'IN YOUR ROOM'.

Alan's comment on the SUBHUMAN Listening Party: "there are some re-used DM sounds - and I'm not apologising for that!"

'99 TO LIFE' (especially its "Recuction") features samples of THE DIGITAL INTERVENTION's 'LA LOUVE' resp. 'THE LAST WRITES'.

'BACKSLIDER' features a sample of 'DRIFTING [Poison Dub]'.

'THE KILLING GROUND' is credited as 'KILLING GROUND' on the U.K. promotional advance CD-R.

The vinyl box set and CD/download formats are different:

On the Vinyl Box Set 'DRIFTING [Poison Dub]', 'STALKER [Punished Mix]' and '5000 YEARS [A Romanian Elegy For Strings]' have a clean fade-out resp. 'JEZEBEL [Filthy Dog Mix]' and 'STRANGE HOURS '10 [featuring The Black Ships]' have a clean fade-in.

On the CD/downloads 'DRIFTING [Poison Dub]' fades over to 'JEZEBEL [Filthy Dog Mix]' and '5000 YEARS [A Romanian Elegy For Strings]' fades over to 'STRANGE HOURS '10 [featuring The Black Ships]' resp. 'STRANGE HOURS 10' was originally entitled 'STRANGE HOURS 09'. As the SELECTED release was delayed until 2010 the title was changed accordingly.
